Flowserve is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to lead and grow an established, high-visibility $5M+ book of business across the San Francisco Bay Area . Supported by our local Quick Response Center (QRC) in Benicia, CA , you will serve as the dedicated commercial and technical partner for our premier refining accounts delivering engineered solutions across centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, auxiliary sealing systems, and aftermarket overhauls .

In this role, you will collaborate with refinery reliability engineers, maintenance superintendents, and operations leaders to solve recurring fluid-handling challenges, extend mean time between failures (MTBF), and capture equipment upgrades. We are actively seeking candidates with backgrounds in centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, steam turbines, compressors, or adjacent heavy rotating machinery .

• Established Tier-1 Territory: Step into an active, multi-million-dollar book of business with major downstream refining accounts.
• Robust Local Infrastructure: Supported by a dedicated local repair shop, machining center, and parts facility at the Benicia QRC.
• Lucrative Earning Potential: Strong base salary plus a 40% Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) tied directly to territory bookings.

• Serve as the primary commercial and technical champion for Flowserve rotating equipment across dedicated Bay Area refining facilities.
• Achieve territory bookings targets across engineered pumps, mechanical seals, replacement parts, and emergency repair services.
• Conduct regular on-site plant walk-throughs and customer visits to inspect equipment, identify bad actors, and recommend API 610 / API 682 upgrade solutions.
• Partner closely with the Benicia QRC engineering and operations teams to review teardowns, prepare repair scopes, and expedite turnarounds.
• Lead commercial proposals, contract renewals, and customer presentations from discovery to final delivery.

• 1+ years of technical sales, application engineering, field service, or reliability experience with industrial rotating machinery (centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals, compressors, or process equipment).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field — OR equivalent hands-on technical sales / field service experience.
• Practical familiarity working within heavy continuous-process facilities (refining, petrochemical, chemical processing, or power generation).
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to commute locally between Bay Area customer plants and the Benicia QRC.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

• Technical knowledge of API 610 centrifugal pumps or API 682 mechanical seals and piping plans .
• Demonstrated experience conducting root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and customer training.
